Dream It. Make It.

The steam engine. The car. The jumbo jet.

Mechanical engineers have had a hand in some of humanity’s biggest innovations.

But they don’t just propel us to bigger and better places. They also work to make our world safer.

Imagine exploring new sources of renewable energy to protect our environment.

Or developing medical diagnostic tools to detect disease earlier.

Whatever you dream of doing, Lassonde can help get you there.

What You’ll Learn

Mechanical Engineering is a multidimensional discipline and includes exploring new sources of renewable energy, developing new tools for medical diagnostics and devising ways to create a cleaner and healthier environment.

You will start with learning the fundamental knowledge that serves as the foundation for mechanical engineering.

After first year, you will have the chance to focus in and explore what you are most passionate about – Mechanism Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical Systems, Fluid Dynamics, Solid Mechanics and CAD (computer-aided design).

Aside from all the technical know-how, you will pick up some great soft skills – effective communication, project management, law, public policy and leadership.

After second year you can also take part in the co-op program, which will be an early start when it comes to finding your dream job.

Courses You’ll Take

Here’s just a handful of the areas you’ll be able to specialize in:

Engineering Graphics and CAD Modelling

Machine Elements Design

Solid Mechanics and Materials

Micro and Macro Manufacturing Techniques

Fluid Mechanics
